I don't want to keep clogging my blog with vent posts but uh... I guess this is a more general concern/observation

But it's getting real hard to stay motivated in fandom spaces when there's little compensation, and annoying occurrences are more frequent than good ones.

Mainly there's been less engagement/people showing interest in creators and their art (such as sending asks, making comments and reblogging with tags) and MORE parasocial interactions. This goes for both artists and writers.

Over this year I've noticed a vast disinterest within my public in general. Asks about ocs, my art, or just nice simple comments of ''I love your art'' has been getting more and more scarce. My follower number is bigger than 2-3 years ago sure and I get more likes on my posts but they are feeling more like just numbers and statistics than actual people who supposedly like my stuff.

And while people being parasocial with creators has always been a thing, I feel like it's gotten way worse... in general? People sending personal pictures out of the blue in hopes of being validated, unwanted psychological advice or assumptions about the creator without any established connection first ( <- these happened to me in the same week.) ventdump, just insensitive/lacking of common sense comments in general, unreasonable demands (mostly with writers)... I wondered at first if it was just me, but a handful of mutuals/acquaintances who are artists and writers seems to be going through it as well.

It's annoying. It's tough. It's getting exhausting. Creators pour so much of themselves into their work—countless hours, effort, and passion, all to share something meaningful or entertaining with others (and for FREE) The LEAST anyone can do is show respect, even if opinions differ. When a writer posts a fanfic, don't just say ''omg post next chapter!'', when an artist posts a drawing of their favorite character, don't just say ''omg draw (character) next!'' as if they're faceless content machines that are expected to churn out more '''content''' for you without acknowledgment, encouragement, or appreciation.

''I want to support creators but I don't know what to say and I feel intimidated by their talent so I just lurk silently :((('' I swear to you, no creator (at least not the majority) is making up an intimidating persona to discourage you from interacting with them. They WANT your comments. A single ''I love your art/writing/videos'' or even something as silly as ''I want to eat your art'' is enough to keep a creator sighing dreamily for WEEKS. It doesn't have to be deep! It's heartfelt and that's what it matters!! (Just remember to keep it relevant and thoughtful... It takes just a bit of common sense NOT to comment things like ''this looks like (another character)'' or ''this but with (another unrelated ship/character/show)''. No one wants to hear comparisons or unrelated ideas when they’ve poured their soul into something.)

In fact, the ''I like your art but I think you're intimidating'' feels more hurtful than flattering. It makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong, acting wrong. 💀

If you love that fanfic that changed your brain psyche forever and want to gush about it, go tell the writer. If you loved so much a piece of art that you saved it a million times in your phone and can't stop thinking about it, go tell the artist. Push away the ''they probably won't care about my comment/it won't make a difference'' thoughts. DO IT NOW. You won't know when they might go inactive forever or deactivate. You can't know if that is the last piece they will ever post. Make sure you show appreciation to creators NOW, while they are still here. While they're still not being replaced by AI.

Jegulus vs Platonic Prongsfoot

As MUCH as I love Sirius black who gets dramatically disgusted whenever Jegulus are being remotely PDA, horrified Regulus because of PDA prongsfoot will be my favorite.

Regulus who'd walk in on prongsfoot so snuggled up they look like 1 person, sharing a blanket watching a movie and they'd invite Regulus in like nothing is amiss.

Regulus who'd hear things like "Oh, fuck me Prongs, that shirt is squeezing the life out of your tits!" Or "Padfoot, if you don't turn around and let me appreciate your ass right now--"

Regulus learning against his will that James and Sirius loves to literally sleep with each other. Although they will find out they actually just like going to sleep with someone.

Them always kissing each other good bye (not in the lips), sometimes calling each other husband, the love of their life, soulmate, etc. An on-going dramatic bit they have.

Drunk prongsfoot is even worse because all the restrictions are off.

They'd be holding each other by the sides of their faces, spilling words of love declaration to each other.

"You know, I will always find you in every universe."

"But you don't have to, we're together in every universe."

"Bro."

"Bro."

Regulus has learned the hard way that he has to stop or distract them by that point because otherwise, they would get so overwhelmed with their love and start crying.

Most of the time he doesn't mind because he knows this won't ever become romantic nor does he get jealous because he's a private person so PDA made him uncomfortable.

And because he learned from veteran Remus that eventually he will get used to it and it just won't surprise him anymore.

Also Remus would say something like "Actually this isn't the worst of it, they're pretty tame now that you've come around." And it low-key terrifies Regulus.

As I'm writing this, I'm realizing this could apply to Jily though I won't tag it. Basically romantic Sirius and James ships will always third wheel platonic prongsfoot

8. Do you add recruited PKMN to your team?

Does this mean actually using the recruits? like exploring with them, and raising their levels in dungeons and giving them good TMs, like I do w/ me Partner?

if so. nope :'D

idk every PMD game it's just been Hero and Partner for me. in the games that have recruitment - and where you can nickname them - I just let anyone that asks join the team, and i give them silly names, and they kinda just stay on standby. forever

I like that in Rescue team I can visit them and talk to 'em, and in Gates where you can more or less do the same. Explorers is a little sad bc they're like. just a list??? unless I invoke them??? :') Super feels similar.

the tl;dr is the recruited PKMN are more like buddies to me, as opposed to real recruits that I have to train to get stronger and help in the jobs. maybe they'd get annoyed about that.... ;u; or maybe not.... good story prompt either way.

15. Favorite PMD character overall?

Hydreigon.

There is no competition :D

I don't think any other PMD game has a character so lovable, so honorable, so silly, so fierce and so tender as Hydreigon. he's just out of this world.

Gates does a real good job at making you get attached to him, because that scene with Kyurem was the most brutal and cruel thing ever done in any pmd game. //////it also made me hate Kyurem's guts. I am still bitter about Kyurem to this day.

anyway Hydreigon is the MVP, no other PMD character compares

18. Best moment in any of the titles?

This is a really difficult question bc i can't pick!!!!!

I am going to randomly choose that moment in PSMD where the Tree of Life is pulled into the sky and there's dirt and big stones falling, and Partner tries to reach it by jumping on each falling stone, but they can't reach it, so everyone gives them a boost in the air. and when it's Hero's turn, it's a really cute moment that shows how much their bond has grown.

picking this one not because it's The Objective best moment in any of the titles - i myself don't really believe it is. IDK which one would be. I've also seen this scene been called corny before. - but rather, it's the moment most ingrained into my memory from any of the titles, because it feels taken straight out of an anime adaptation of PMD, and I very much dig anime-like things.

Wait I have free time? In this day and age ? (College) I'd usually spend it reading, doom scrolling, drawing, fretting about my major subjects all while listening to music^^

What are your hobbies and how did you get into them?

Drawing, writing, crochet ! The first two have been a thing since I was younger while crochet was introduced first to me by my mum (I wasn't into it as much) then re-introduced to me again by my best friend (I am now super into it.)

What book or movie has left a lasting impression on you?

Get ready for book reqs (hah)

The land of stories- first series I've read as a kid so it will always be dear to my heart. I love the sibling dynamics and the prospect of fairytales (just realized that this is technically a transmigration book?)

Six of crows- first duology + superb world building + found family + magic and crime stuff. I remember begging my dad to buy it for me. I absolutely love this book and the crows so much (they're THE found family ever.)

Mist- this is actually a danmei I got into during the pandemic ! Honestly one of the best pieces of literature I've read so far. The writing? The dynamics? The found family? I'll recommend it to anyone who loves scifi + adventure + cold x sunshine + co-workers that hate each other to lovers + funny banters+ intellectually stimulating plots (literally my head was spinning trying to understand what was happening)

my name is rurumi and i enjoy spending my free time writing!

some of my hobbies (outside of writing) includes: drawing, building gundams and keyboards, and fashion! i got into most of them on a whim and became instantly hooked. aside from self-expression, being into fashion also helps with making friends in college because you always have something to talk about!

a book that left a lasting impression on me would have to be either kafka on the shore by haruki murakami or before the coffee gets cold by toshikazu kawaguchi. both stories have kept me up at night thinking a lot about the 'what ifs' in life.

i enjoy soul/r&b alongside anything of jrock influence, but i will basically listen to anything that sounds good. i am currently listening to 'so what' by lucy!

my favorite character at the moment is rin itoshi from blue lock because hes so ridiculously edgy, but at the same time i sympathize with him a lot. on the other hand, my favorite character of all time is suletta mecury from the witch from mercury series, she's an absolute ball of sunshine that i aspire to be.

AN (IN)FORMAL EXPLANATION.

i have to talk about this before i chew my own arm off.

Maverick and Rainy's relationship is best described as frustrating. At least when it comes to how their mindsets clash with one another.

For context! Rainy has always been the "level-headed" one of the family, you need to be in order to keep so many secrets for the Boss! Even with such a level head however, stress is easy to accumulate, double that with being kidnapped and shot in the face and you broke the camels back, so to speak!

( a bit of rambling below! as well as cw! blood!)

It was a fact that if you died you could just come back, he had seen it time and time again, it wasn't a surprise when he woke up in a bed... okay well, it was a bit of a surprise, but who could blame him?

it was a first, and in any other circumstance, I would think traumatic!

To put it simply, reality broke a little for him. Rainy began to... ask questions he didn't really think of asking before. What exactly brought them all back? Why? What brought them back exactly? He knew of "Father" but who was "Father" anyway? It's not like he could talk to anyone about such a thing, the Boss had chosen him specifically to keep his mind a vault, being someone's Eyes and Ears is no easy feat, i assure you! A title with a heavy weight. You could almost say it was an awakening to the web of lies and soft spoken words he was so delicately placed in the center of. How distressing!

Of course, reality would set in, and Rainy's usual cool and collected demeanor cracked a little, and since Maverick was always nearby, he was always there to witness the waves of distress befall him.

Not that it happens all the time! Just... you know!

Don't even get me started on Maverick... the poor guy has been through the ringer, and Rainy is simply the icing on top of the angst cake.

needless to say, Rainy has become disinterested with life in a way, and because of this he kind of became reckless his own. (not that he goes out of his way to do anything dangerous! he just doesn't care to be as careful anymore, which in turns stresses Maverick out!)

It doesn't help with them being as close as they are, and it especially hurts Maverick to see Rainy in such a state.

Ahhh, what is he to do? He can only dream of better things.

I got these shoes from someone recently but thought they were way too plain looking, so I set out on a quest to customize them with some sharpies and charms and miscellaneous ribbon I had in my craft drawers. i don't have a point here except ???, but i realized today that starsky & hutch episode the psychic a) was written by micheal mann of (among many other things) classic crime thriller heat fame, and b) contains a baffling amount of (references to) crossdressing. it's one of the two episodes that opens with starsky and hutch chasing a guy in a dress (which gives us the "well i don't know, you('d) look rather nice in basic black and pearls" starsky-to-hutch line), later on they interrupt a robbery being committed by ANOTHER guy in a dress (and grey wig, posing as an old lady - presumably with the intent to disguise his identity rather than express some part of it, but who knows), and THEN they meet a hot lady mechanic who among many fast lines says to starsky "i'm really a basketball player in drag. whatever turns you on, honey" (interestingly timely, considering starsky's earlier comment about hutch). and finally, not entirely related but also not unrelated, there's these people at a laundromat hutch hits up on his mad phone chase at the end of the episode:
